Agro-Food

There are, of course, many centers of excellence in the food industry in Wallonia, which is world famous for its chocolates, beers and processed meats (charcuterie). The Agro-Food cluster helps marshal the forces of the food industry and supports international competitiveness in four key areas:

  • Food in relation to health
  • Technological development in terms of taste and convenience
  • Biodegradable packaging
  • Sustainability in conjunction with environmental concerns and rationalization    of energy intensive raw material by-product and co-products

Also, over a thousand researchers, technicians, scientists, and experts teamed with partners in business, politics, and official institutions to create the Agrobiopole Wallon. It is a pole of excellence in the fields of agronomy and biotechnologies in general, designed to generate, promote, and develop agricultural and biotechnological research that favors sustainable development and benefits local and regional industries.

  • Wallonia Biotech Coaching
  • WAGRALIM (in French)
