Alcohol and drug use is a health care issue, not a moral issue.

Some people feel that alcohol and drug use, as well as other health issues like obesity, depression, and anxiety are moral failings or character flaws. This belief can prevent patients from seeking the medical care they need and often clouds the view of health care professionals.

InSight teaches health care providers to treat the whole person.

By approaching substance use and misuse as an important medical issue, health care providers will learn to effectively treat and advise patients. They will become more effective in treating patient’s symptoms that may be related to using alcohol or drugs.
